Specialty CareMATTHEW WALKER COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER offers a wide array of specialty services to help patients improve their health. Specialty services are provided on-site at our Nashville clinic. However, we provide transportation for our patients at our Clarksville clinic to our Nashville clinic for any specialty appointments that qualify. Our specialty care services include dermatology, general surgery, geriatrics, mental health, nutrition, obstetrics and gynecology, opthalmology, podiatry and telehealth medicine.
DermatologyOur team of medical providers focus on skin diseases such as skin cancers, moles, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and skin conditions arising from other diseases.
GastroenterologyOur gastroenterologist diagnoses and treats diseases of the digestive system, including the stomach, intestines, liver, gall bladder, and pancreas. Conditions include ulcers, hepatitis, Colitis, Crohn's Disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and abdominal pain.
General SurgeryOur general surgeon has expertise related to the diagnosis - preoperative, operative and postoperative management - and management of complications of multiple surgical conditions.
GeriatricsOur internist has special knowledge of the aging process and special skills in the diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive and rehabilitative aspects of illness in the elderly.
Mental HealthOur mental health provider offers treatment on an outpatient basis for psychotherapy, psychological testing and psychological evaluation.
NutritionNutrition services are available by referral, and or on a walk-in basis by our Registered Dietician. We believe that nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices are at the heart of prevention and treatment of many health problems. Our program has a strong emphasis in the area of disease prevention, and attempts to address nutritional needs in a way that is practical, and not single-issue focused.
Obstetrics and GynecologyOur team of providers including Obstetrics and Gynecological Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and our Nutritionist provide women and teens nutritional and health services along with prenatal and family planning. We are able to serve our patients through all aspects of women’s health including annual exams, screenings, family and nutritional planning and health education. We partner with most Davidson County hospitals for deliveries. We also offer Women Infants & Children (WIC) services, onsite laboratory services, ultrasounds and mammogram screenings.
OphthalmologyOur Ophthalmologist provides comprehensive eye exams for prescription eye glasses and contact lenses. He is also experienced with examining and following patients with Glaucoma, Cataracts, Diabetic Retinopathy and the ocular effects of other medical conditions.
Orthapedic SurgeryOur orthapedic surgeon provides treatment for conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. He uses both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
TelehealthMATTHEW WALKER COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER is a pioneer in the use of telehealth medicine in Middle Tennessee. This system allows patients in underserved areas to access specialists without having to travel long distances. The current system uses teleconferencing equipment and high-speed telephone lines to allow the clinician and patient to see and speak to each other as if they were in the same room.
